Brazilian Court Selects ISS and Shield it to Participate in Electronic Voting ‘Integrity Test’

The 2022 Electronic Ballot Integrity Test in Brazil required a reliable and advanced video monitoring solution to ensure the transparency and security of the election process. The challenge was to deploy a system capable of monitoring electronic ballot boxes and detecting any tampering or irregularities in real-time. The project demanded a solution that could integrate AI-powered analytics for accurate video management while maintaining data integrity and complying with legal standards. Coordination with multiple stakeholders, including electoral authorities, was essential to successfully execute the pilot across different phases of the election.

Companies partner to develop integrated video monitoring solution for election pilot project

WOODBRIDGE, N.J., Oct. 27, 2022 – ISS (Intelligent Security Systems), a leading global provider of video intelligence and data awareness solutions, in partnership with systems integrator Shield IT, was recently selected to develop a customized integrated video monitoring solution as part of a pilot project for Brazil’s 2022 Electronic Ballot Integrity Test. The pilot project was conducted by the Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF), which is charged by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) with executing the test within its region.

ISS’s SecurOS® platform, which provides a wide range of advanced, AI-powered analytics and video management modules, was chosen by the court due to its demonstrated ability to ensure the effectiveness of the test and meet the challenge of proving the integrity of the electronic ballot boxes.

The initial test was successfully carried out by the TRE-DF both prior to and on the day of the first round of elections that were held earlier this month. The test will be replicated with the same process for the second round of elections that are scheduled to take place on Oct. 30.
